Vietnamese struggling to comply with Russian approval requirements

July 18, 2007 16:47

As was earlier reported by https://www.fishnet.ru/ , the Russian vets of Rosselkhoznadzor suspended all imports of seafood products from Vietnam except from those plants that had been accredited and approved for export to the Russian Federation.

However many Vietnamese companies have not yet got detailed lists of Russia's new requirements from the Vietnamese vet authorities.

As Rosselkhoznadzor's representative explained to https://www.fishnet.ru/ these requirements cover a broad range of various aspects of production process.

For example, in the case with pangasius they check all the stages of the process of fish farming (temperature level, quality of water, additives and harmful elements' presence etc.), process of fishing, processing, freezing, packing and shipping.

The requirements are close to those that are expected from products being exported to Japan, Rosselkhoznadzor added.

Commenting on Vietnamese individual queries, Rosselkhoznadzor said that the whole list of new requirements had been duly passed to their Vietnamese colleagues for them to inform their producers.
