Value of Icelandic catch January-May 2010
Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 57 billion ISK in January-May 2010, compared with 43.1 billion ISK in the first five months of 2009. Total value increased therefore by 32.4% between years, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Statistics Iceland.
Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 43.7 billion; thereof cod ISK 22.2 billion, haddock 7.6 billion, redfish 5.8 billion and saith 2.7 billion. Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 8.5 billion and flatfish catches for 4.1 billion.
