Value of catch January-August 2010
Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to 91 billion ISK in January-August 2010, compared with 77 billion ISK in the first seven months of 2009. Total value increased therefore by 18.2% between years, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Statistics Iceland.
Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 64 billion; thereof cod ISK 30 billion, haddock 11 billion, redfish 7.7 billion and saith 5.6 billion. Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 17.7 billion and flatfish catches for 7 billion.
