Blue whiting
The week's quantity amounted to almost 18.000 MT of which some 3.000 MT was sold for meal&oil. The average prices were lower by the end of the week, below NOK 2,00 for consumption and below 1,50 for reduction.
Capelin in the Barents Sea
The catching was improving by the end of the week following a period of bad weather. The total was 51.300 MT,- a little less than the week before. The production for the Japanese market is gradually reduced and an increasing part of the capelin is now used for roe production, which means fewer ports for landing the capelin.
The size is still highly variable. The turn organisation results in high activity for the sales people in Bergen in addition to registration of catches and keeping the vessels participating currently updated of the development.
