Seafood export from Vladivostok region showing a big boost
According to the official statistics, since the beginning of 2010 seafood export from Primorsky Krai (capital Vladivostok) jumped several times on the respective period of 2009, reports www.megafishnet.com (https://www.fishnet.ru/).
More specifically, in January-February 2010 export of seafood harvested by the province's fishing vessels inside and beyond the inland marine waters, the territorial sea, the continental shelf, the Russian EEZ and both delivered for clearance and not subject to delivery to the nation's customs territory of Russia amounted to 70,700 metric tons, 3.7 times up on the corresponding result of 2009, at the total value of 79 million USD, 2.9 times up on 2009.
In the first two months of the year 2010 Vladivostok fishermen exported catches to nine countries with the largest export value reported for China, namely 34 million USD (43%). It was followed by South Korea - 26.6 million USD (33.7%), Japan - 6.3 (7.9%) and the USA - 5.8 million USD (7.4%).
