Russia's National Fish Resources company defining cities for huge coldstore project

The government-owned FGUP National Fish Resources Company has defined where in 2009-2011 it will build 19 coldstores of the total capacity of 140,000 tonnes, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to the Russian media.

More specifically, the project will be carried out in two stages. At the first stage to take place in 2009 - first half of 2010 it is planned to build 5 coldstores of the total capacity of 45,000 tonnes. At the second stage another 14 coldstores will be built with the total capacity to amount to 95,000 tonnes. The total volume of investments into the first stage is estimated at 85.5 million USD, while the second stage will cost 171.5 million USD.

All these coldstores will be built on the ways of seafood delivery from the fishing regions, first of all from the Russian Far East, to the centre and south of Russia. In particular, at the first stage the coldstore terminals will be launched in Vladivostok, Murmansk, Yekaterinburg, Moscow region and Belgorod. At the second stage the National Fish Resource will build two coldstores in Sakhalin and Novossibirsk as well as coldstores (one in each of the cities as follows) in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Pionersk (near Kaliningrad), Sochi, Makhachkala, Kaliningrad, Saratov, Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Nakhodka and Primorsk-Akhtarsk.
