Russia's FishNet helps forge $4 million deal, rebrands Russian Fish Report
Russia-based FishNet ltd, known for its leading seafood portal https://www.fishnet.ru/ (http://www.megafishnet.com/ in English), is making a further investment of cost and effort to add more value to its Russian Fish Report published for paid circulation abroad since 1996, according to the company.
Along the lines, our editorial team has already been working in earnest for quite a bit of time increasing value and bearing extra costs, says FishNet's director Alexander Makarov. In particular, some recent improvements include:
- Overview of key markets for fish products from Russian and American Pacific fisheries
- Overview of seafood exports from Russia's Far East
- Russia's seafood import statistics with the forthcoming individual scrutiny of top players, etc
Unfortunately, the small niche market has not responded with the right economic returns and we faced а choice of shutting down the publication or find a new road to RFR's buoyancy.
A subscriber survey has led us to decide on the positive option. So, editorially, we are taking onboard an excellent professional with vast seafood sales experience, the decision enabling us to rebrand RFR to Russian Fish Insider Report in a drive to boost quality and subscriptions. Towards the latter end, we have also made a contract with a UK-based company to boost traffic on our English-language portal http://www.megafishnet.com/.
Naturally, the subscription price will have to be changed as of 2011 to match the niche size and the production costs. As of January 2011 we shall charge Euro 120 per month (only 4Euro per day) with the minimum subscription order of 3 months at Euro 360. The cost-saving options include 6 months at Euro 576 (20% discount) and 12 months at Euro 1008 (30% discount).
Russian operations
Meanwhile our Russian operations have been very successful, the Russian-language fish portal https://www.fishnet.ru/ consolidating its leadership in Russia and CIS with 40460 unique visitors and 661151 hits in November 2010, according to LiveInternet, continued Mr. Makarov.
As a result, we have sold out nearly the entire advertising space on https://www.fishnet.ru/ and we have got practically all top Russian fish market players for our regular advertisers and/or subscribers to the Russian-language e-weekly.
Apart from the main page, the customers found very popular the text banners on the Price Current section and the fixed-place advertisements on the key-word sorted Trading Board.
As of 2011 we are also launching Gold and Silver Membership which, apart from Prestigious Presentation and respective insignia, will provide for priority listing in the product categories of the Seafood Directory, in the keywords on the Trading board and in all filter categories on the Price Current page.
Russia's leading importer and distributor the Russian Fish Company has already purchased the Gold Membership and it is also a very good tool for our foreign customers to introduce themselves to Russia's seafood business community.
$4 million
Based on our contacts with the Russian fish business elite, we were also able to help our partners with some big sales. In particular, we helped a customer from Europe to sell a fishing trawler in a deal worth $4 million.
In the forthcoming year of 2011 FishNet Team will carry out further big development plans and using the occasion we are pleased to wish all our business partners a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year, concluded Mr. Makarov.
