Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency started to implement NEAFC decisions

Head of Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency Andrey Krainy has signed an order on measures aimed at fulfilling decisions of the Special Session of the Fisheries Commission in the Northeast part of the Atlantic Ocean (NEAFC waters) which took place from 1 to 3 July 2008 in London, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to RIA Fishnews.

In particular, the Department of Science and Education, the Department of International Cooperation and FGUP PINRO have been announced responsible to secure presence of 2-3 scientists onboard the Russian vessels who will conduct bottomfish operations in the NEAFC waters in 2009. In cooperation with FGUP VNIRO research institute, until 10 October 2008, the above mentioned three organizations shall prepare materials and proposals for the PECMAS meeting to take place on 28-29 October 2008.
