Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency preparing for salmon season
As part of preparation to the salmon season 2009 Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency has organized a working group to manage the salmon fishery 2009, the team to be headed by the Agency's deputy head Viktor Risovannyi, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to Vostok-Media.
Before 10 April 2009 volumes of Pacific salmons capture for commercial, amateur and sport fisheries will be conveyed to the heads of the territorial commissions in charge for management of anadromous fisheries. The Agency's departments have been ordered to control timely distribution by the commissions of these volumes between the entities with whom arises the right for capture of Pacific salmons, with whom agreements for allocation of fishing sites have been made.
The established working group for the salmon fishery management will cooperate and coordinate with the bodies of executive power of Russia's provinces, scientific organizations, territorial bodies of Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency, as well as conduct weekly online conferences on progressing of the Pacific salmon fisheries.
By 10 April 2009 the decision is to be made on transfer the Pacific salmon into exploitation by the applicants willing to conduct fisheries for research and control purposes, educational and cultural enlightenment purposes. Also by 10 April 2009 the department on fish control, surveillance, policy and reproduction will prepare a decision on transfer the Pacific salmon into exploitation by the applicants in the volumes according to the applications, the fishery operations to be conducted for the purposes of fish-farming, reproduction and acclimatization of aquatic bioresources. The territorial bodies of Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency have been similarly commissioned as to distribution of volumes for salmon fisheries for the purposes of securing traditional lifestyle and traditional economic activity by small aboriginal peoples of the Far East of the Russian Federation.
