Russian vets restricting seafood shipments from Estonian fish plant

Due to discovery of Staphyloccoccus aures in frozen fish (sprats) during the monitoring lab tests Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced temporary restrictions for seafood shipments from an Estonian plant, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to the Service.

More specifically, under the Service's directive No.FS-NV-4/5527 dated 9 June 2009 the Russian vets has restricted seafood shipments from the Estonian plant EE 408 EU from 20 June 2009.

In case of receipt of seafood products shipped before 20 June 2009 from the above plant the decision on cargo's permits shall be taken in the established order.
