Vladivostok department of Rosselkhoznadzor (Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) has introduced accelerated procedure of issuing veterinary approvals for export of aquatic biological resources and products based on them beyond the Russian Federation, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to PrimaMedia.

According to the order, the veterinary certificates for seafood consignments, meant for exportation and not landed in the customs control zone of the Russian Federation, will be processed out by the respective territorial departments of Rosselkhoznadzor, while earlier the export certificates have been issued by head office in Moscow. In order to fulfill the order of Rosselkhoznadzor, Vladivostok department of the Service has introduced a temporary procedure of issuing veterinary certificates for export.

The measure is aimed at maximum reduction of time for the procedure of issue of veterinary documents including issue of export permits and decrease of excessive administrative barriers in the international trade in a situation when the entire Russian catch from the EEZ is subject to mandatory customs clearance in Russian ports as of 1 January 2009.
