Russian tilapia import from China booming
Russia has become one of the main buyers of Chinese tilapia purchasing 19 000 tonnes in 2007, according to Globefish.
The above volume is almost four times the figure for 2006.
The interest of Russia in tilapia from China is paralleled with record imports of pangasius from Viet Nam once again confirming the fact that Russia is an interesting market for whitefish at a competitive price.
