Russian fishery police to patrol waters around Spitsbergen

In 2009 the Barents Sea and White Sea territorial department of Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency is planning to carry out patrolling in the waters of the above mentioned seas with the help of chartered vessels, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to Murman.

The first patrol vessel Angrapa left for a 60-days trip on 10 April 2009. She will control the waters of Spitsbergen, Grey Zone and Loophole.

Onboard the vessel there will be a group of two inspectors of the territorial department and one inspector from Murmanrybvod representing the International Sailing Safety Code.
