Russian fishermen exhausting most of their capture quotas off Morocco

In the first year of the intergovernmental agreement approving Russian fishing operations in the waters of Morocco, the Russian fleets covered 56% of their quota 2010, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/) with reference to the nation's Federal Fisheries Agency.

More specifically, as per 25 October 2010 the Russian vessels harvested 56,000 tonnes or 56% of the nation's capture quota of 100,000 tonnes.

According to the Agency, eleven Russian vessels coming from Murmansk, Kaliningrad and Saint Petersburg have applied for fishing permits in the Moroccan EEZ. At present, the fishery operations are conducted by 7 Russian ships, four of which are staying in Las-Palmas for scheduled repair.
