Russian Far East (RFE) Pollock fishery responding to market needs for sustainable Pollock products

Participants of the RFE pollock Fishery Improvement Partnership are working to respond to market needs for sustainable Pollock, , reports http://www.megafishnet.com/ with reference to Sustainable Fisheries Partnership update issued on  12 March 2010.  

The Participants of the RFE pollock Fishery Improvement Partnership already presented progress reports on fishery improvement efforts at a formal session of the Vladivostok International Fishery Congress last September.

 The participants reiterated the market needs for sustainable pollock and the benefits for companies to engage in the fishery improvements partnership.

 RFE Pollock splits into two units of certification, Sea of Okhtosk and West Bering Sea-both have been under MSC full assessment for the past year.
