Russian crab catch statistics for first five months of 2011
From the beginning of the current year 2011 Russian fishermen harvested 14,600 tonnes of crabs, 4500 tonnes up on the same period last year, according to Russian Fish Insider Report published by http://www.megafishnet.com/.
More specifically, in the Sea of Okhotsk they harvested 9800 tonnes of crabs, 56% up on last year. The harvest in the Sea of Japan amounted to 3640 tonnes.
In the Bering Sea the fleets harvested 700 tonnes of crabs and in the waters of the North and South Kuriles the Russian fishermen harvested 400 tonnes of crabs.
In the waters of foreign states (Argentinean EEZ) the Russian fishermen harvested 70 tonnes of crabs.
