For the first seven months of 2006 the Russian Federation has increased sales of Alaska pollock fillets to Germany to 16 000 tonnes, 45% up on the same period last year, according to Globefish.

Thus Russia has reversed the declining trend of the last few years when its supplies to the market had been dwindling from 60,000 tonnes in 2001 to 16,000 tonnes in 2005.

France

In January-July 2006 the Russians have also boosted export of pollock fillets to France to 2800 tonnes or 155% up on 1100 tonnes in the first seven months of 2005.
