Russia drafting federal program to boost fishery industry

At present the government of the Russian Federation is working at a draft program called "Higher efficiency of exploitation and development of the resource potential of the fishery industry in 2008-2012".

The nation's fishery regions are very keen to participate in the program designed to solve the most important issues of the industry's development (construction and refurbishment of fishing vessels, refit of onshore fish processing factories, development of aquaculture).

With the government coffers overflowing with finance, the program may mean a highly positive signal for the industry's future.
