Restrictions of importation to Russia from Latin America postponed
On the sixth of October the Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor circulated the information according to which the date of the ban of importation onto the territory of the Russian Federation from the seafood processing plants of Latin America not approved for export to Russia was postponed to the 1 November 2008, reports http://www.fishnet-russia.com/ (www.fishnet.ru) with the reference to the Russian vet body.
As it was earlier reported by http://www.fishnet-russia.com/ the new regime of importation from Latin America was previously scheduled to start on 1 October 2008.
More specifically, as of 1 November 2008 the import of fish and non-fish products from Uruguayan, Chilean, Peruvian and Argentine plants will be allowed from the plants and vessels approved by Russian vets to export onto the territory of the Russian Federation. The products will be landed via the ports of Murmansk, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and Vladivostok. The importation of the products from non-approved plants shipped after the 1 November 2008 will be banned.
