Promising start to Boston Seafood
High precision portioning, the fastest slicer on the market for fresh salmon and an interactive look at Marel's groundbreaking Innova software suite are just some of the highlights awaiting visitors to Booth 865, at this year's International Boston Seafood Show, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Marel.
Centred round the theme of "We know how", products featured on the 210m2 stand are the Townsend RevoPortioner low-pressure former, the Geba SC 250 Multi Angle salmon slicer, the I-Cut 10 PortionCutter high-speed portioning machine, the new-generation ProLine grader, a Marel packing station and Innova production management software, the binary brain behind almost all Marel equipment and integrated solutions.
Star of the show on the first day, however, was the RevoPortioner. Weighing in at over 7,000 lbs, this massive piece of further processing equipment generated several enquiries about its capabilities throughout the first day.
Marel is represented at the exhibition by a team of sales and service personnel from the recently established Marel Seattle, formerly Carnitech Seattle, who are joined by Marel personnel from Iceland, Mexico, Denmark and Panama.
"It was a great first day" says Marel Seattle general manager Denny Smith. "If the visitors to our booth continue in the same numbers for the next couple of the days, then the future looks good."
North America's largest seafood exhibition, the International Boston Seafood Show/Seafood Processing America conference together attract some 17,000 visitors from over 130 countries worldwide. Involving almost 900 exhibitors appearing at 1,700 booths, this year's show runs from March 20-22.
