Price rises and falls on Russian seafood market in early August 2009
In the first week of August 2009 Moscow's seafood market has been interesting price trends, both positive and negative, according to the overview prepared by analysts of http://www.fishnet-russia.com/ (https://www.fishnet.ru/).
More specifically, prices for pollock and pangasius fillets have been strengthening against weakening prices for salmon roe and pink salmon.
Progressing of the salmon season in the Russian Far East has attracted major interest of the market players. As per 28 July 2009 the total harvest of salmons from the beginning of the season amounted to 175,600 tonnes, including 150,600 tonnes of pink salmon, 10,200 tonnes of chum salmon, 14,200 tonnes of sockeye and 500 tonnes of Chinook.
Russia's leading lender Savings Bank (Sberbank) has approved use of marine vessels and vessels of inland and mixed sailing as main security for credits.
In the meantime, Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Rosselkhoznadzor has extended the period of importation of aquatic biological resources and products from Belgium, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, India, Ireland, Spain, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, France and Ecuador under earlier issued permits for approved plants up to 31 December 2009.
Along with the above, permits for surimi export to the Russian Federation after 10 August 2009 have been issued for three Vietnamese companies:
- 1. DL 295 (Camau Seaproducts Exploitation and Service Corporation S.E.S);
- 2. DL 334 (Tien Dat Seafood Processing Co., Ltd);
- 3. DL 433 (Phuong Dong seafood).
