Vladivostok fishery scientists have produced advice for catch of fish and shellfish in the Russian Far East in third quarter 2010, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

Under the projections the fishermen have been given a guideline catch figure of 1.29 million metric tons or 33.1% of the annual forecast.

Some 53.4% of the catch in the third quarter will have to be made inshore and the fishermen are advised to deploy their fleets accordingly.

The harvest is projected to mainly contain the following species and quantities

-Alaska Pollock, 366 000 tonnes

- Salmons in the amount of 303 700 tonnes

-Squids, 189 000 tonnes

-Sea weeds, 133 000 tonnes

The third quarter will normally produce the largest catch as it will see the start of the saury season and acceleration of the salmon fishery as well as Alaska Pollock operations in the Bering Sea. Besides, the inshore fisheries will gather a greater momentum.
