On December 15th, nearly 110 people joined the Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission (ODCC) for a reception and dinner in Portland, OR to celebrate MSC-certification of the Oregon Dungeness crab fishery, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to MSC.

James Beard award-winning chefs Philippe Boulot, Vitaly Paley, and Cory Schreiber prepared an amazing five-course Oregon Dungeness crab dinner paired with certified sustainable wines from the Willamette Valley. At the event, MSC Americas Regional Director, Kerry Coughlin, and MSC Americas Fisheries Outreach Manager, Dan Averill, presented the ODCC with the official certificate. Other speakers included Katy Coba, director of the Oregon Department of Agriculture, and the ODCC's Executive Director, Nick Furman. Guests included numerous media, Oregon state politicians and government agency representatives, and members of the fishing industry.
