Norwegian seafood export to Russia in February 2011

In February 2011 Russian market has emerged as one of the largest for Norwegian salmon, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/ with reference to the figures of Norwegian Seafood Export Council.

According to NSEC, the export value of Norwegian salmon increased by 46% to NOK 149 million, giving the salmon market the greatest growth.

Herring and mackerel

Russia is the largest market for Norwegian herring with a value of NOK 280 million, which is the same in comparison with first two months of 2010.

Exports of mackerel grew by NOK 141 million to NOK 481 million. In February 2011 Russia has come the second largest market with a value of NOK 80 million.

Trout

According to NSEC figures, exports of trout to Russia which used to be the largest market for Norwegian trout fell by 36% to 1,279 tonnes.
