Mixed long-term outlook for Norwegian salmon supply
In the long-term the outlook for Norwegian salmon supply is not as positive as its current growth. The thing is that in approximately two years the limitations arising from the current regulations and licenses are expected to arrest any further growth in Norway's salmon output, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.
The resulting gap will probably be filled by Chilean farmed production forecasted to bounce back from 2012 with the global supply thus perhaps to continue growing.
Meanwhile the Norwegian salmon has been doing quite well on the traditional markets and especially on the emerging markets such as China, Lithuania, Taiwan, Ukraine, Israel, Turkey, Kazakhstan, UAE, Estonia, Philippines, Belarus, Egypt, and Malaysia - the latter case mostly explained by general growth of salmon consumption.
