Russia’s leading food retailer welcoming new foreign suppliers

In 2018 Russia’s leading multiformat retailer X5 Retail Group made more contracts with foreign suppliers under the direct import program, namely the number of such contracts rose by 114 as compared to the previous year. X5 Retail Group runs such popular federal chains as Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Karusel. The share of local manufacturers in some regions exceeded 30% in 2018. The share of domestic products in the retailer’s range on offer amounts to more than 90%.
