Russia publishes fish production results for January 2021

Russia has published the results for fish products output in January 2021, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to TASS, in January, frozen fish production totalled 197.63 thousand metric tons, which is 18.3% less than in January last year and 13.4% less than in December 2020.

Frozen fish fillets output amounted to 21.09 thousand MT, 5.0% more than in January last year, and 36.4% more than in December 2020.

Fresh or chilled fish fillets production totalled 285 metric tons, 1.0% more than in January last year, but 19.6% less than in December 2020.

Canned fish production went down. In January, Russian canneries produced 32.41 million nominal canned fish units, 22.7% less than in January last year and 30.4% less than in December 2020.

Production of fish preserves totalled 22.85 million nominal canned fish units, 24.7% more than in January 2020, but 8.4% less than in December 2020.

Sturgeon caviar production was 4.3 tons, 65.3% more than in January last year, but 70.1% less than in December 2020.

Salmon caviar production amounted to 96 metric tons, 32.5% less than in January last year, and 79.4% less than in December 2020.
