Rosselkhoznadzor Representatives Took Part in Work of Russia-Morocco Fishery Commission

The Russian delegation to the Second Session of Russia Morocco Joint Fishery Commission in Agadir was headed by Head of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov. The Moroccan delegation was headed by Moroccan Minister of Agriculture and Sea Fishery Aziz Akhannouch.

The parties discussed the conditions of domestic ship fishing in the Atlantic zone of Morocco. The issues of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of fishery and agriculture were also discussed. Ilya Shestakov noted that “the Russian party is interested in the further development of partnership relations for the sake of preservation and reasonable use of fish stocks in the Atlantic zone of Morocco by means of Commission’s effective tool”.  Following the results of the meeting a protocol was signed. On the margins of the Committee meeting the Rosselkhoznadzor delegation met General Director of the National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) Ahmed Bentkhami. In the course of the meeting several key issues related to safety assurance of Moroccan fish and sea products exported to Russia were discussed. In particular the issue of rapid data exchange between the services as well as the prospects of further cooperation in the sphere of phytosanitary and veterinary surveillance were discussed.
