Prices for fish products from Russian Far East remained stable in mid-July

While the salmon season has been featuring record breaking harvests in mid-August 2021, catches of Alaska pollock, sardine, plaice and squid have been seriously down year-on-year, reports Megafishnet.com.

More specifically, the YOY lag is as follows: 160,300 tonnes for pollock, 21,300 tonnes for sardine, 12,700 tonnes for plaice and 51,000 tonnes for squid.

According to producer sources in the area, seafood delivery tariff from Vladivostok to Moscow by railway has stabilized at RUR25.00 per kg and it is forecasted to rise to RUR28.00 by the end of September current. The situation with transport vessels remains difficult. Coldstores have been stuffed with fish products at 90%. Landing operations have been progressing slowly.

As the fishing season has been at full swing, prices for Pacific salmons have been declining.

The demand for HG pollock is weak due to the low demand season. Prices have stabilized. The demand is expected to strengthen in mid-September at the earliest.

On the international market Russian HG pollock 25+ fetches USD1,250-1,300 per tonne CFR China.
