Murmansk looking into new markets in the Middle East
Fish from the Murmansk region may be delivered to the Middle East. This possibility is being discussed by experts of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the region. Additionally, they plan to change the logistics of supplies for the exporting enterprises, according to Izvestia.
The chamber believes that there are great prospects for the frozen fish raw products, especially premium ones, in the countries of the Middle East. They are talking, in particular, about Turkey and the Arab Emirates, where Russian and European tourism is popular.
In addition, Murmansk cod suppliers are negotiating on cooperation with Brazil. Cod is not a new product in this country, as they consume clipfisk (salted-dried cod), as well as desalted cod.
This year, the producers of fish products of the Murmansk region received the right to supply controlled goods to the UAE, Vietnam, Hong Kong, USA, Thailand, Japan, Qatar and Indonesia.
