Moscow salmon and trout market bracing for early May demand and expected price rise
As per mid-April 2021 wholesale prices for frozen salmon from Chile have stopped its rise in Moscow despite the price increase in the country of origin, reports Megafishnet.com.
After all, it is the demand that has actually slowed down the price growth. Besides, many market participants still have inventories of Turkish frozen trout at good prices.
Prices for Faroese salmon Salmo salar have also fallen slightly, though the supply of large sizes is short again.
Prices for Turkish chilled trout are steady and in the near future traders forecast a price rise.
Murmansk chilled trout on offer has spawning changes, which means its quality is questionable.
In early May the market demand is expected to increase, just like prices.
Price range ex-Moscow cold storage as of 14 April 2021
