Latvian sprat cannery entering European retail chains

Latvia-based Sabiedriba IMS canned fish producer trading on the markets of EU, CIS, the USA and Asia has received funds from the EU aimed at co-financing its project called "Raising efficiency of company's production process", reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to the firm's press-release.

Sabiedriba has already made agreements with suppliers and started implementation of the project which is to be finished by July 2010. New modern smoking chambers will produce the seafood range for the markets of Western Europe.

In September 2009 "Sprats in oil in Riga style" made by Sabiedriba were awarded a gold medal at the international seafood show World Food Moscow 2009. In October 2009 the company passed ISACERT certification received IFS certificate allowing it to sell its products to the European supermarkets.
