Kamchatka reporting results of seafood exports in January-September 2009

In January-September 2009 Kamchatka, a fishing region in the Russian Far East, exported seafood at the total sum of 316.8 million USD, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to Kamchatstat.

The above proceeds account for 87.9% of the corresponding result of 2008 and include 230.6 million USD (78.5% of the last year result) contributed by frozen fish.

Export operations were carried out by 48 Kamchatka-based companies. In the total volume of exports shipments to South Korea amounted to 66.5%, Japan - 14.5%, the USA - 8.8%, Hong Kong - 4.3%, Virginia Islands (British Islands) - 3.8% and China - 2.1%.
