Joining industry and the WWF in calls for radical reform of EU fisheries policy

February 4, 2011 09:53

Young's and Findus Group were part of a new alliance of UK businesses and conservationists who met today with EU Commissioner Maria Damanaki, calling on her to deliver ambitious reform of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), reports http://www.megafishnet.com/ with reference to Young's Seafood.

Young's supports fundamental reform of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and believes that change is essential to drive out discards and achieve long term sustainability in European fisheries. Driven by the company's Fish for Life approach, it has been actively lobbying for improvement for a number of years - today's event is part of our continuing alliance with WWF, AIPCE, the FDF and others to support calls for a new system to replace the CFP.
