Telephone Talks between Rosselkhoznadzor and Chairman of Ukrainian National Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service Vladimir Gorzheyev

The topic of the discussion was the information published in mass media about the ban on marketing and withdrawal from the circulation of canned fish produced by the Kaliningrad plants due to non-compliance of the Russian goods with the Ukrainian legislation requirements. Herewith official notifications about sanctions were sent neither to the Russian producers nor to the controlling bodies. Mr. Gorzheyev informed the Russian party that the restrictions were imposed by another Ukrainian controlling body, Gospotrebinspektsia, and noted that the Ukrainian National Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service has no complaints about Russian goods. The Rosselkhoznadzor deems it appropriate to focus on the fact that in accordance with the international legislation and current practices when such restrictions are imposed there is a strictly established procedure which envisages appropriate laboratory tests and official notifications sent to producers and controlling bodies of the exporting country. This procedure was not followed by the Ukraine.
