Talks between Rosselkhoznadzor and Peruvian National Fish Health Service (SANIPES)

The talks were held in the format of a video conference and were devoted to the issues of cooperation between the competent authorities and development of bilateral trade relations of Russia and Peru, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor

It was reported that the Rosselkhoznadzor through diplomatic channels had referred its propositions to the Peruvian National Fish Health Service in relation to the Memorandum in the field of veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance. It is important as soon as possible to harmonise and sign the Memorandum which comprises all spheres of cooperation between the competent authorities and will facilitate effective and multi-faceted trade-economic cooperation between the countries.

The Russian party also noted that the Rosselkhoznadzor had been invited to inspect Peruvian fish processing establishments interested in export to Russia. After coordinating this issue with all the EEU Member States the Rosselkhoznadzor will inform the Peruvian party about the dates of the inspection and will send for fulfillment a questionnaire on the national control system for fish products safety in Peru.

Special attention was given to issues related to export of animal products from Russia to Peru. In particular, the Peruvian side informed that there is no compulsory inspection of Russian fish processing enterprises interested in export to Peru. The export approval can be based on the guarantees provided by the Rosselkhoznadzor.
