Sergey Dankvert participates in Global Fishery Forum
Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert participated in the Global Fishery Forum and International exhibition for fishery, seafood and know-how held on September 14-15, 2017 in St. Petersburg. Sergey Dankvert joined by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich and Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo) Ilya Shestakov visited the exposition, got acquainted with the exhibited fishery products, as well the latest know-how in fishery industry. After the review of the exhibition Arkady Dvorkovich, Ilyz Shestakov and Sergey Dankvert held a meeting with Russian businessmen involved in fishery production in the Russian Federation where they gave answers to acute questions related to fishery industry.
Within the framework of the forum a number of international negotiations were held. Arkady Dvorkovich, Ilya Shestakov and Sergey Dankvert met with Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries of the Kingdom of Morocco Aziz Akhannouch. In the course of negotiations the sides discussed current issues of cooperation in the field of fisheries and animal health. Sergey Dankvert informed about inclusion of two Moroccan fish-producing establishments in the Register of establishments and individuals for production, processing and (or) storage of regulated products imported to the custom’s territory of the Custom’s Union.
The above mentioned representatives of the Russian Federation had a meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of Iceland Katrin Gunnarsdottir. At the meeting the parties discussed current issues of cooperation in the field of fisheries, veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance. In the framework of the forum Sergey Dankvert and Ilya Shestakov also had a working meeting with Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Kingdom of Cambodia Veng Sakhon. The sides discussed prospects of further cooperation between supervisory bodies of the countries. Sergey Dankvert invited the Cambodian colleagues to visit FGBI ARRIAH subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor to get an insight into production process of Russian vaccines against animal diseases. He also said that the Rosselkhoznadzor is ready to organize workshops that will allow the Cambodian colleagues to examine veterinary requirements for livestock products supplied to the territory of the Russian Federation from the third countries. In response the Cambodian colleagues confirmed their interest in this visit and organizing such events.
Within the forum Sergey Dankvert visited the plenary session “A global view of fishing in the World Ocean: cooperation or competition?”, as well as the presentation of Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich at the conference “A New development strategy for Russia’s fisheries industry”.
