Second stage of crab quota auctions being prepared
The documentation for the second stage of crab auctions is being prepared now within the Federal Agency for Fishery (FAF), reports Megafishnet.com.
It is planned that again these will be auctions with investment obligations, said the FAF head Ilya Shestakov quoted by Fishnews.
"Much attention is paid to conceptual issues. It is necessary that during the second stage, gaps and problematic issues that arose during the implementation of the first stage of the investment program should be taken into account. These are the (building) deadlines, the volumes of quotas, the requirements for investment objects, and other obligations of all parties," the FAF head listed the key points.
At the same time, he noted that taking into account the workload of the shipyards and the significant current investment obligations of the companies, there is no task to launch the second stage as quickly as possible.
"We will first discuss the terms with the industry participants. But we consider it necessary to announce the future program in advance, so that businesses have more opportunities to prepare and plan their development programs, " Ilya Shestakov stressed.
