Seafish outlines future plans

Seafish, the authority on seafood, has today outlined its plans to return to full service after its recent Supreme Court victory. Dr Paul Williams, Seafish CEO, said: "Now that the Supreme Court has clarified that levy on imports was, and indeed always had been, legal, we are looking forward to getting back to full speed over the coming months, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Seafish.

"Our immediate priority is to pay our creditors and re-build our cash reserves. As our income stabilises, we will focus our activity in areas that industry has highlighted as important, such as communication and promoting seafood consumption. "The Seafish Board will also be looking at the projects which have been reviewed and approved for funding from our Industry Project Fund. This fund, of approximately £1 million per year, goes to support projects put forward by industry in a whole variety of seafood related areas. "Seafish provided £4 million of value to industry over the last year despite our income dropping to £2 million after the Court of Appeal decision, which inevitably affected our activities. We are keen to continue to build on this in the next few months as our plans come together."
