Russian vets and Chineses customs giving greenlight to all types of Russian seafood

Rosselkhoznadzor and the Main Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China signed a protocol to expand the list of fish products that can be supplied from Russia to China.

In the period from September 24 to 26, 2023, the 11th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Permanent Working Group on Cooperation in the field of veterinary supervision, phytosanitary control and food safety was held in St. Petersburg.

The both sides summed up the results of the joint work carried out since the 10th meeting of the working group and discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation.

The key event of the Russian-Chinese cooperation was the signing between the Rosselkhoznadzor and the State Technical Committee of China of a Protocol on the requirements for inspection and quarantine and veterinary and sanitary requirements for wild fish products exported from Russia to China.

This document povides that in the near future deliveries of all types of fish and seafood products from Russia to China will be carried out without taking into account the presence of the exported finfish and other seafood species in the "Catalog of types of aquatic products and countries (regions) that have received sanitary quarantine permission to import products to China or have previously traded with China", which will be changed accordingly. This will allow exporters to supply all types of aquatic biological resources to China.
