Russia submits first batch of reexamined vessels and establishments to China

Russia’s vet watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has submitted to the General Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China a dossier on Russian enterprises and vessels that were re-examined for compliance with the requirements of the destination country, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, at the end of November 2020 the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China demanded that the entire 899 plants and vessels certified for export of fish products to China should be repeatedly examined for compliance.

Initially, the Chinese side announced the need to conduct a re-check before the end of 2020. However, as a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed that in December 2020 a list of enterprises and vessels that do not meet the requirements imposed by China would be submitted, and their export licenses would be suspended. Rosselkhoznadzor promptly complied sending the list at the end of last year.

During the negotiations, it was also announced that the dossiers of the enterprises meeting the Chinese requirements would be conveyed to China as soon as possible in 2021.

As a result, on February 2, 2021, the Russian vet service submitted information on 105 such Russian fish processing factories and vessels.

In the near future, Rosselkhoznadzor expects to send to China another batch of dossiers prepared in accordance with the Chinese requirements.
