Russia’s catch of finfish and other seafood exceeding 4.5 million MT
According to the industry monitoring system, by December 5, 2022, the total Russian catch of aquatic biological resources amounted to more than 4.59 million metric tons.
According to the Federal Agency for Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo), fishermen caught more than 3.3 million tonnes in the Far Eastern Fishery Basin. Alaska pollock catch amounted to 1.8 million tonnes, +202.7 thousand tonnes year-on-year, herring – 427.6 thousand tonnes, +65.3 thousand tonnes YOY.
In the Northern Fishery Basin, the total harvest of aquatic biological resources amounted to 493.7 thousand tonnes.
In the Western Fishery Basin, fishermen harvested more than 74.1 thousand tonnes, +3.4 thousand tonnes on 2021. In the sprat fishery, the catch amounted to 39.8 thousand MT, +900 tonnes YOY, Baltic herring – 23.2 thousand tons (+2.1 thousand MT).
In the Azov-Black Sea fishery basin, the total volume of capture of aquatic biological resources amounted to 39.7 thousand tons.
Russian fishermen caught more than 81.4 thousand tons in the Volga-Caspian fishery basin.
In the exclusive economic zones of foreign states, convention areas and the open part of the World Ocean, the Russian harvest amounted to 527.3 thousand tons, including 321.7 thousand tons in the foreign EEZs, 205.6 thousand tons in convention areas and in the open part of the World Ocean.
