Russia and Norway to launch joint fishery site

September 12, 2011 12:57

Later this autumn Russia and Norway are going to launch a joint fishery site.

The resource will highlight mutual activities for stock management and fishing rules in the Russian and Norwegian EEZ in three languages (Russian, Norwegian and English).

The regulations are to be duly updated and will help the fishermen of the both countries, as well as third parties, avoid violations of the rules. The site will also publish catch statistics.

The Russian fishermen have welcomed the forthcoming launch of the site while suggesting that it should also publish all cases of fishing rules violations with cause for vessel arrest.
