Rosselkhoznadzor Holds Talks with Iran Veterinary Organization
The talks were held upon the initiative of the Iranian party on May 11, 2016 via teleconference and were devoted to the discussion of agreements reached in the course of the First Meeting of the Russian-Iranian Working Group for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Issues, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor.
Iran Veterinary Organization confirmed its intention to pay a working visit to the FGBI “Federal Centre for Animal Health”, subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor, the largest research and scientific institute in Russia, in order to adopt the practices of the Russian scientists in production of highly effective FMD vaccines. In the near future the Iranian party is planning to consider the draft agenda of the visit and send an updated list of delegators.
In the course of the talks the start of Russian animal product export to Iran was touched upon. The Rosselkhoznadzor informed that it had initialed and sent to IVO the Protocol for frozen deboned beef exported from Russia to Iran. Besides, the Rosselkhoznadzor is still considering the Draft Protocol regulating export of chilled deboned beef from Russia to Iran.
The parties also discussed export of venison and fishery products from Russia to Iran. Iran Veterinary Organization expressed its wish to visit reindeer rearing and slaughter sites as well as fish catching areas and fish processing establishments. The Rosselkhoznadzor informed that it was ready to arrange inspections when it received additional technical information from the Iranian party.
In conclusion the parties agreed to continue ensuring safety of bilateral animal product supplies in a constructive and effective manner.
