Participation of Rosselkhoznadzor in the Meeting between Alexander Tkachev, RF Minister of Agriculture, and Uri Ariel, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Israel
On June 7, 2016 the Rosselkhoznadzor representative participated in the meeting between Alexander Tkachev, RF Minister of Agriculture and Uri Ariel, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Israel. During the meeting the parties signed a Letter of Intent on cooperation in the field of dairy production (priority sector), water resourses and advance irrigation technologies, agro-logistics, harvesting technologies, logistics and storing as well as green house technologies, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor.
For the purpose of specifying joint work conditions the parties will prepare a “road map” on facilitation of adaptation and implementation of Israeli technologies in Russian agro-industrial complex , cooperation between veterinary and phytosanitary services, cooperation in the field of agrarian science and education, exchange in technologies in the field of agriculture for the XII Meeting of the Mixed Russian-Israeli Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation which will be held in Jerusalem, in October.
The heads of agrarian authorities agreed that there are no phytosanitary barriers in mutual trade in safe plant products in the present time and current customs tariff restrictions shall be lifted as the free trade zone between the EEU and Israel is being established.
U. Ariel confirmed its interest in development of bilateral trade in agricultural products between Israel and Russia and mentioned that Russian bean cultures, in particular, chick-pea, table eggs, beef and mutton could be in demand on the Israeli market.
The Israeli Minister was informed on the work done to study import requirements for animal product export to Israel as well as about harmonization of veterinary certificate for ready-to-eat dairy products intended for export from Israel to the EEU countries with Competent Authorities from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kirgizia.
In conclusion A.N. Tkachev and U. Ariel agreed to continue joint work during the forthcoming Intergovernmental Commission and confirmed their readiness to take advantage of the high level of international relations aimed at development of trade and economic links.
