Negotiations between Rosselkhoznadzor and Veterinary Organization of Iran

The negotiations were held on the initiative of the Russian party on April 12, 2016 in the form of teleconference and were devoted to agreements reached during the meeting of the 1st Russian-Iranian Working Group for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Cooperation, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor.

Thus, the parties discussed topical issues related to export of Russian poultry meat and fish products to Iran. In particular, the Rosselkhoznadzor thanked the Veterinary Organization of Iran for providing the Russian Service with veterinary and phytosanitary requirements for frozen poultry meat intended for export from Russia to Iran. The Rosselkhoznadzor also informed that it expects the Iranian party to approve export to Iran from three Russian poultry establishments.

The Veterinary Organization of Iran informed that in the nearest time it will finish analysis and provide the Rosselkhoznadzor with the harmonized Draft Protocol on export of boneless frozen beef from Russia to Iran. Besides, the Iranian party proceeds harmonizing veterinary certificates for export of fish products from Russia. The Veterinary Organization of Iran also confirmed its intention to visit the largest scientific and research institute in Russia, the FGBI «ARRIAH», in order to learn from the experience of the Russian scientists in the field of highly effective FMD vaccine production. The Rosselkhoznadzor expressed its readiness to send the Iranian party its suggestions on the programme and terms of the visit of Iranian experts to Russia.

At the end of the discussion the parties mentioned that the negotiations were constructive and there is potential for increasing effectiveness of cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine.
