Negotiations between Rosselkhoznadzor and Representatives of Competent Authorities of India, Vietnam and USA

Within the framework of the 65th meeting of the WTO Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures in Geneva negotiations with the representatives of Competent Authorities and missions of India, Vietnam and USA were held, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor.

The Russian party informed the representative of the WTO mission in India of cooperation with the Indian Competent Authority on harmonization of the Protocol on safety of the ready-to-eat milk products supplied from India to the Russian Federation. The Rosselkhoznadzor is currently expects the Indian party to inform about signing the Protocol and to send back the edition delivered after the teleconference of March 2, 2016.

The Russian delegation discussed exports of animal products from the Russian Federation with the representatives of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. In April 2015, the Vietnamese Competent Authorities performed inspections of the Russian pork, beef and poultry manufacturing plants. Following the inspections and reports the Rosselkhoznadzor submitted the information required by the Vietnamese party. In the follow-up of the meeting the parties agreed to step up the completion of the procedure of the access of the RF establishments to Vietnam and to more closely cooperate on this issue.

Negotiations with the US delegation were also held and the Russian delegation expressed concern about the AI situation in this country. The Rosselkhoznadzor continuously monitors the global AI situation including the situation in the USA. The parties agreed to continue sharing information on this issue.
