Meeting between Sergey Dankvert, Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor and Hugo Federico Idoyaga Benitez, President of the Paraguayan National Veterinary Service (SENACSA)

Sergey Dankvert held a meeting with Hugo Federico Idoyaga Benitez, President of National Veterinary Service of Paraguay (SENACSA) in the course of his visit to Paraguay, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor.

The issues concerning meat import from Paraguay to Russia were discussed in the course of the meeting. The high level of cooperation between the countries’ national services was noted. Traditionally, Paraguay imports more than 100 thousand tons of meat and dairy products into Russia. In certain years, the supplies reached 180-200 tons. Such high rates promote fair practice among the importers from the Latin American countries and this also provides the Russian consumers with wide variety of products.

The Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor also noted the effective work of the Paraguayan Veterinary Service in the sphere of antibiotic residue control in livestock products.

The regular meeting of the Rosselkhoznadzor representatives and their colleagues from SENACSA is planned in the margins of the OIE meeting which will be held in Paris in May.
