At a recent meeting with Yury Trutnev, Presidential Plenipotentiary in Russia’s Far East, Kamchatka’s Governor Vladimir Ilyukhin has initiated use of duty free shops for export promotion of ecologically pure Russian fish.

Nowadays various market efforts are being implemented to promote "Made in Russia" products on the international market. From its side, Kamchatka administration has prepared a proposal to promote such products abroad through duty-free shops. According to the Governor, using such shops has an evident advantage of wider coverage of potential consumers, because often “Duty Free” are located not only in the departure and transit zones, but also in the arrival zones, which increases the coverage by tourists and businessmen. In addition, it gives an opportunity for simplified legal regulation for the exporter, since the national legislation of the country in which the duty-free shop is located exempts such goods from paying a number of duties and domestic taxes, said Governor Vladimir Ilyukhin.

Mr. Ilyukhin underlined than new outlets under the sign of “Made in Russia” or specialized departments in already operating Duty Free stores would significantly raise interest of potential partners in high-quality Russian environmentally friendly products.
