HB GRANDI’S TENTH VISIT TO BRUSSELS SEAFOOD EXPO GLOBAL

The annual Seafood Expo Global opens in Brussels tomorrow, the largest event of its kind anywhere in the world. The event spans the 6th to the 8th of May and as in previous years, HB Grandi has a presence there.

‘This is the tenth time that we have taken part at Brussels under our own name,’ said marketing manager Brynjólfur Eyjólfsson.

Twenty of HB Grandi’s staff will be in attendance this year and standing watch on the company’s stand, 839-1 in Hall 6 in an area organised by Promote Iceland.

‘This is a particularly important event for us, with opportunities to meet our existing customers as well as new ones. What is also new this year is that we are introducing subsidiary company Vignir G Jónsson hf as well as dried products that have been added to our range following the merger with Laugafiskur. We will have products from Vignir G Jónsson on our stand. We are also proud to be able to introduce people to the IRF certification of golden redfish,’ Brynjólfur Eyjólfsson said.

The Brussels Expo is split into two events, one for producers of seafood products and the second for suppliers of equipment and services to the seafood industry. The Promote Iceland website lists 33 companies that are taking part under the Iceland banner. Of these, 15 are equipment and service suppliers, and 18 are seafood producers. In addition, five other Icelandic companies are taking part.

According to the events website, 26,000 sellers and buyers from 14 countries can be expected and last year the event had 26,000 visitors.
